This wooden automaton is the deconstruction of the first six measures of Lotus Land, Op. 47 No. 1 by Cyril Scott, a piano piece I deeply resonate with. While my goal was to replicate the sound, the process of taking the piece apart and building this analog music box helped me discover the significance of a work's journey to completion. While there is a definite end product, this to me is more of a celebration of process and procedure.
